INDY 500 1967 and 1968 CONTROVERSY
Gas Turbine cars were entered in both the 1967 and 1968 INDY 500 races.
Problems seemed to turn sure wins into last moment losses.
Of course, this stuff sounds like conspiracy to me.
I think the Turbine car guys "cut a deal."
They were allowed to "show off a little," but they were NOT allowed to win. (my opinion.)

A turbine engine has no pistons.
A nozzle blows hot gas over a spinning fan blade.
This engine has 80% fewer parts then a piston engine.
Only a few moving parts, and can burn about anything that will burn.
It is my opinion that we should be using Gas Turbine engines instead of piston engines.

It is in the best financial interest of most of the current automobile/gas/oil businesses to keep using piston engines that are much more complex and expensive to maintain, and burning the dirty oil based fuel rather than clean fuels like alcohol and hydrogen gas.

Every major auto company has had a gas turbine project at one time or another. All seem to be going well, but when it comes production time, they all have an excuse to not go with the gas turbine engine.
The latest was the Jaguar C-X75.
They decided not to go into production due to the "global economic crisis."
This car is NOT a poor mans car.....

IT'S POTTY TIME!
There is just no end to the ends that planners will go to, to insure that NO bums's bum sees the inside of one of their event's portable toilets.
Arriving just moments ago (about 3:40 pm) loads of porta-potties arrived at Military park in downtown INDY.
In case you did not know, Military park is also the home to a half dozen homeless people.

In the recent past I have seen the plastic connector ties, locking people from the toilet, changed to real locks.
and...
At a run/walk event, a group of guys followed the END of the last group of people, turning the potties around to face each other so no one else could use them!!!

MICROWAVE BURGER
The taste is much much better.
Here is a hint:
To make the defrost step easy:
The microwave wants 3 digits for the weight.
Sooo,
1) Hit <speed defrost> button
2) Hit <0> <0> <5> for a 5 oz. burger
3) Hit <start> button
Your burger may be warm enough for you already.
If not, try about 20 seconds or so on HIGH.
Or, the instructions for a already thawed burger on the box.
UNACCEPTABLE
Now that we have the internet, the days of the one way, take-it-or-leave-it stuff should be gone.
However this stuff is actually fabricated should not matter, it should not be tolerated for one tiny little instant.

MADE UP LIKE MOM
I think I MAY have been the ONLY one on this planet to have ever witnessed this.
BIG SIS had us over for Thanksgiving dinner shortly after our Mother's passing.

I was the only one in her kitchen, when she walked out from her bedroom with her makeup done to make her look IDENTICAL TO OUR MOTHER!!!
I DO NOT MEAN THE SAME WAY OF DOING HER MAKEUP.
I MEAN SHE LOOKED JUST LIKE OUR MOTHER!!!

She saw my shocked expression and went back into her bedroom and changed the makeup back to HER LOOK.
